West Minster City Council considering office relocation

Westminster City Council is considering moving its headquarters from the City Hall on Victoria Street, London.

The council currently occupies 180,000 sq ft of modern office design space which is owned by Land Securities. However, the organisation is keen to move to new premises and is now in talks with commercial property manager Knight Frank regarding an office relocation project and possible alternate locations.

Alastair Gilchrist, strategic director of resources at Westminster City Council, said: “We are considering a partial or total relocation from the building to another nearby site. It’s important to stress, though, that no decisions have been taken yet and this is but one of a number of options we are looking at.”

Meanwhile, hedge fund managment company 36 South recently announced plans to move to new office interior space in the caital.

The firm earmarked Panton House, 25 Haymarket, as its preferred choice and is currently in the process of an office relocation from New Zealand in order to take advantage of the UK’s burgeoning hedge market.
